Dovegram
Traditional social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram often fall short in providing an experience that aligns with Christian principles and values.
With this in mind, Lagoinha Church—a Baptist denomination founded in 1957, boasting over 600 churches in more than 20 countries and a community of 100,000 members—envisioned Dovegram. This platform was designed to offer a unique social network experience for its members and Christians from other denominations.

Challenges
Creating a niche social network comes with the significant challenge of delivering a user experience comparable to major platforms, which benefit from substantial technological investments.
To overcome this barrier, it was crucial to adopt a creative, user-centered approach that ensured every step of development added value and delivered an experience on par with established social platforms.

Our Approach
More than technological hurdles—effective strategies
Understanding the User Journey
Building a platform inspired by references like Facebook and Instagram required a deep understanding of user needs and expectations. Through Design Thinking processes, we mapped the user journey, identifying value drivers and daily demands to be addressed.
Crafting Solution Hypotheses
Based on these insights, our teams developed innovative solutions and features tailored to create meaningful impacts for users.
Prototyping and Testing
We created prototypes and shared them with potential users, enabling interactive feedback. This process revealed strengths, areas for improvement, and highly valued features. New ideas emerged to enhance the product’s relevance and appeal.
Iterating
We refined the product through iterative cycles of ideation, prototyping, and validation, continuing until we achieved a high-success prototype ready for development.
Planning
The validated prototype was transformed into a detailed plan of epics and features, organizing deliverables with a clear focus on timelines and budgets.
Development
Using agile methodologies, we structured development into two-week sprints. Leveraging Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools ensured organization and transparency. Active client involvement, represented by the Product Owner (PO), aligned outputs with expectations.
Delivery
After four months of work, Dovegram was launched during a global event hosted by Lagoinha Church in Brazil. The launch garnered significant attention, with over 40,000 users joining the platform in its first weeks.
Sustaining
A software product’s journey doesn’t end at launch. We dedicated a team to monitor, update, and implement continuous improvements, adapting to environmental changes and new client demands to ensure Dovegram remains relevant and effective.
